MAJOR Peer-Reviewed Studies Link COVID Vaccines to Increased Kidney Disease Risk

Multiple large-scale peer-reviewed studies have emerged showing potential links between COVID-19 vaccines and increased rates of kidney disease, raising IMPORTANT questions about vaccine safety monitoring and informed consent protocols that have been largely ignored by mainstream media and public health officials.

A comprehensive pharmacovigilance study published in Scientific Reports in February 2025 analyzed over 120 million adverse event reports from the international VigiBase database spanning 1967 to 2022. The research revealed disproportionate reporting of acute kidney injury associated with COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, with a reporting odds ratio of 2.38 and significant statistical indicators suggesting a safety signal that warrants further investigation.

"The number and proportion of reports on kidney injury and inflammation gradually increased, with a substantial increase after 2020 when COVID vaccinations began."

Perhaps most concerning, the study found that COVID-19 mRNA vaccines showed the highest disproportionality for glomerulonephritis—a serious form of kidney inflammation—with a reporting odds ratio of 13.41. This represents a DRAMATIC signal compared to other vaccines in the database, yet federal health agencies have been slow to acknowledge or investigate these findings despite their peer-reviewed publication in a respected scientific journal.

A separate retrospective cohort study using TriNetX data, which included nearly 1.5 million vaccinated patients and an equal number of unvaccinated controls, examined the association between COVID-19 vaccination and subsequent kidney dysfunction. The research, published in a peer-reviewed medical journal, identified specific patterns of acute kidney injury occurring after vaccination that could not be easily explained by other factors.

A Taiwanese study published in Frontiers in Medicine examined acute kidney disease following COVID-19 vaccination at a single medical center. Using the Naranjo score—a validated causality assessment tool—researchers identified 27 patients who developed kidney disease after vaccination, at an estimated rate of 13.6 per 1,000 patient-years within their renal registry. The study concluded that patients with pre-existing chronic kidney disease may be at particular risk, especially after repeated vaccine doses.

These findings are particularly troubling for patients with pre-existing kidney conditions. The Taiwanese research noted that COVID-19 vaccination-related kidney injury may "draw greater concern among chronic kidney disease patients, particularly in those who receive repeated doses." The study authors recommended individualized immunological evaluation and shared decision-making communication with kidney disease patients before scheduled vaccination—a practice that has NOT been widely implemented by healthcare providers.

Conservative health policy experts have long argued that the rush to achieve universal vaccination may have overlooked important safety signals and failed to provide adequate informed consent to patients. While public health officials continue to promote COVID vaccines as safe and effective, these peer-reviewed studies suggest that certain populations—particularly those with kidney disease or risk factors for kidney problems—may face elevated risks that were not fully disclosed or investigated.

It's CRITICAL to note that these studies show associations, not definitive causation, and that COVID-19 infection itself is known to cause kidney injury. However, the consistent pattern across multiple independent research teams using different methodologies and data sources demands serious attention from regulatory agencies. The fact that kidney injury reports increased substantially after 2020 when COVID vaccinations began cannot be dismissed as coincidence.

The broader question these studies raise is whether the public health establishment's commitment to maximizing vaccination rates has created an environment where legitimate safety concerns are minimized or ignored. Patients deserve complete information about potential risks, particularly when multiple peer-reviewed studies identify concerning patterns. As the debate over vaccine mandates and recommendations continues, these findings underscore the need for transparent discussion of risks and benefits rather than blanket assurances that vaccines are universally safe for all populations.
