Amazon just started sending out a new wave of Prime settlement payments — and this time millions of additional customers who were previously excluded are now getting money automatically.
The FTC announced that its $2.5 billion Amazon Prime settlement has been expanded and accelerated. Over $845 million has already been paid out, and automatic payments began this past Thursday for consumers who used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits during the qualifying period. That group was not eligible under the original settlement terms but is now covered under a court-approved expansion that raises the maximum payout from $51 to $200.
No claim form is required. No action is needed.
Here is what to check right now. If you have been a regular Prime user who took advantage of multiple benefits — streaming, free shipping, Prime Music, Amazon Fresh, Prime Gaming, and others — check your email inbox and spam folder for a notice from the FTC or Amazon's settlement administrator. Also log directly into your PayPal or Venmo account and check for any new payment that may have arrived in the last few days. If your address or payment account information has changed, contact the settlement administrator at [email protected] immediately.
For the most current information on your eligibility, visit ftc.gov/enforcement/refunds/amazon-refunds directly. And as always — any message asking for fees or banking details before your official notice arrives is a scam.
A final round of pro rata payments is also coming. After a threshold review in February 2027, the remaining distribution will go out by April 2027, which means additional money could still be heading your way next year.
